Employer Spotlight: Sunshine Pharmacy
Plus a new partnership offering Bioidentical Hormone Testing!
A Wellspring DPC membership is not just for individuals and families – we have employer memberships as well.
We understand the challenge many local small businesses and nonprofits face in wanting to provide healthcare benefits to their employees, but the cost is too great. That’s why we are super excited to partner with employers who can now provide a healthcare benefit to their employees through a Wellspring membership.
We also want to cheer them on in their good work as they lead their organizations in our community, which is why we’re going to share a regular “Employer Spotlight” with you.
This month we kick off with our colleague in the healthcare industry, Amanda Nichols, R.PH., owner of Sunshine Pharmacy. Not only is Sunshine Pharmacy an employer member, but they are also partners in a new service we are offering our patients.
Sunshine Pharmacy
Sunshine Pharmacy specializes in providing services for those with complex medication needs. Amanda is the head pharmacist, and her husband, Chris, is the pharmacy manager. They have a team of two pharmacy technicians and a dedicated compounding technician.
Sunshine incorporates both alternative and traditional medicine and a full range of health solutions to meet patients’ individual needs – which is why they are such an ideal partner for Wellspring!
Partnering in Bioidentical Hormone Testing
Many women experience hormone imbalances that impact their health in significant ways, ranging from difficulty sleeping to infertility. Hormone balance is a critical component of wellness, and natural treatments are available to support this aspect of women’s health.
Amanda has been a licensed pharmacist for over 20 years, and specializes in Women’s Health, including thyroid issues and bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (HRT). We have partnered with Amanda to offer bioidentical hormone testing and therapy for our members.
How It Works
Lindsey Zwart, our nurse practitioner, will facilitate a streamlined process for identifying hormone imbalances for interested members. Members will begin a consultation with Lindsey, followed by saliva testing.
Lindsey will then collaborate with Amanda to determine the best treatment plan for the patient based on their hormone levels, symptoms, and existing medications. This approach combines Lindsey’s knowledge as a medical provider with Amanda’s expertise as a pharmacist.
We understand how important it is for a patient’s care team to work together to provide the best care for the patient, which is why we are thrilled to launch this new partnership with a local pharmacy right here in Black Mountain.
